𝙅𝙤𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡 Cinematic trip hoppy and jazzy electronica that transports you right in the middle of 21st century urban mental emptiness. But it truly seems to be an empowering experience. Like a gentle hug from the grim reaper whispering: 'It's alright, everything is just an illusion." Love the saxes, love the sequential patterns, love the bittersweet atmosphere. Favorite track: Reading Room Rendezvous.

nofatclips 2nd listen: one song leads to the other and all together make a triumph of creativity and atmosphere!

1st listen: a lively vibrant counterpart to the music from Thy Catafalque, yet another proof that Tamás Kátai can be trusted to do no wrong! Favorite track: A Város / The City.

NEOLUNAR ARCHITECTURE Let me frame myself into a line. Let me fit myself in the design. Drive me, draw me, plot me. A part of structure, clean-cut.
3.
AVENUES (THE WAY WE LEAVE) Subways of dreams below illuminate the streets above. The streets, these streets get cold and colder every other day. As we drive, drive, drive into the city’s heart, the city’s veins, the passing scenes of others’ lives glow in the dark to show the way. You drive when I sleep by your side under massive structures of time. Run, run, run into the city’s heart, the city’s veins, the passing scenes of others’ lives shine in the dark to show the way. You drive when I sleep by your side under massive structures of time. I see your face. I see the way we leave tonight. I see your face. I see the way we leave tonight.

A VÁROS / THE CITY Szaladj a parkban egy zivatarban, egy nagy esőben, a villanyfényben villamossínen hajtja a szívem a csillagváros, aki magányos, álmodik. Mind, aki itt lakik álmodik. Keress a dombon, keress a parton, felettem felhő, csillagok, erdő. Ez az a város, keress meg benne, vonatok futnak a végtelenbe. Ha nem jössz mégse, felszállok este, sálat a nyakba, kesztyűt a zsebbe. Álmodik mind, aki itt lakik, álmodik.

Haar 03:25
HAAR Have you ever seen as the shadows from the sea float through streets like tonight singing for the sleeping soul? Haar comes, haar again! And the oozing Meadows trees now swish, scroop, whiz with her, chanting for the dreaming soul. Have you ever seen as the shadows from the sea float through streets like tonight singing for the sleeping soul? I’m out, out for you, In the cold fog, running through the shades, ghosts, shapes of rain, scouring for your woken soul. Sleep falls like dark, falls like dark unto trees. Sleep falls like dark, falls like dark unto trees. I’m out for you.

SAND INTO WAVE White into blue and blue into white now, blue into white and white into blue and sand into wave, sand into wave again. Grey into green into grey into green now, green into grey into green into grey, it seems like the rain building my sleep again. Seems like the rain building my sleep again. Seems like the tide shaping my dream again. Circle to square and square into circle, square into circle and circle to square, so feels like the sun’s never to rise again. A phase of the moon drives me to the sea, this turn of the moon drives me to the sea, I walk to the sea and dream of a storm again. Seems like the rain building my sleep again. Seems like the tide shaping my dream again.

Blue Swans 06:30
BLUE SWANS Blue fills the night, I hide an angel. Silent, the sleep, I hide an angel. Street drones below, I hide an angel. Sinking to dark I hide an angel. Like swans I drift and hide an angel. Down with the years I hide an angel.

So now I need the wisdom, fade in the sky or fade into dark. Like you, I need to respond - come to the bridge or walk to the park. This place, a city of secrets, conjures me away to the core like you, I need to choose now, drive to the Hall or go to the shore. You’re far, send me your breath still, I need your voice more than the sun. You’re far, I talk to the distance, talk to the wind, it leaves me undone. You’re far, send me your embrace, I need your touch more than the sun. You’re far, I reach for the distance, cry to the welkin, it leaves me undone.

about

Neolunar is a new project of Tamás Kátai, creator of well-respected Edinburgh-based avant-garde metal band Thy Catafalque. This album however has no common ground with metal, yet the somewhat weird amalgam of different stylistic elements is still present.
Electronica, retro futurism, dark wave, jazz noir, pop music are melted together in a dreamlike, dark, film noir vision.
Occasional sax and violin awashed in reverb, silent urban spaces explored. Midnight flânerie.

Music for the city, the night, the sleep.

Featuring world-class London saxophonist, David Jean-Baptiste and Dimitris Papageorgiou on violin.

Re-released by GS Productions in 2018 September in jewel-case CD edition, limited to 150 hand numbered copies.

Released on black vinyl by GS Producions in 2022 March.
